My name, as you've probably gathered by now, is Greg
Martin. I live in Seattle, Washington, where I pursue digital illustration
as a hobby that runs parallel to my real job of graphic design. I'm currently
a junior in the Visual Communication Design program at the University
of Washington.
I've been working on the computer since my junior high days, playing around with various techniques and teaching myself how to make my ideas appear the way I want them to on the screen. My favorite form of art is realism, although lately I've been working to perfect what I consider the three most important aspects of a piece: 1) dynamic light 2) volume, and most importantly, 3) refined scene composition. I am hopeful that as time progresses my work will evolve to epitomize these three points. Additionally, I am also making an effort to bring my growing
knowledge of good design theory and concepts into play in my works. This
site may be a portfolio of my illustrative works, but the site itself
is a piece in progress demonstrating my design prowess (such as it is).
Design aspects aside, I hope you enjoy everything this site has to offer!
Feel free to drop me a line via email in the future. |

"Lend your ears to music, open your eyes to painting, and . . . stop thinking! Just ask yourself whether the work has enabled you to 'walk about' into a hitherto unknown world. If the answer is yes, what more do you want?" - Kandinsky, 1910 |
